Defense Budget:Rupee 1289 Billion
Military Pensions:Rupee 369 Billion
AF Dev. Program:Rupee 324 Billion
Total: Rupee 1982 billion
The above amount does not include:
1. Expenditure on paramilitaries like Rangers,FC,Coast Guards,Scouts & Mujahid Force which are army's extensions but draw money from the budget allocated to Ministry of Interior.
2. Expenditure on Special Projects like Al-Khalid Tank,JF-17 Thunder etc,for which money comes out of lump/block allocations.
3. The money charged for services rendered in aid of civil administration,like disaster management,internal security.election duties etc.
4. The money spent on Nuclear Regulatory Authority,Machine Tool Factory,HMC/Survey of Pakistan,ISI,PAEC/KRL/NESCOM/Defense production/DESTO etc.
5. PSDP allocations for Defense.
6.Expenditure on NDMA & FATA reconstruction.
7. Assistance for IEDs.
8. Money earned from sale of arms through DEPO.
9. Special allocations for projects like Kartarpur/Motorway maintenance.
10. Any foreign aid which comes from the West.
Note :The above is an incomplete list.But rest assured that DEFENSE has gobbled up DEMOCRACY & DEVELOPMENT in this country!
Unless,the subordinate departments, controlled by powerful people genuinely realize that their survival is contingent upon the survival of this country, and unless they set their priorities right, this country has no future!
