The Real Heer Ranjha? Damodar or Waris Shah who wrote First?

People in Sub- Continent are very Familiar With Heer Ranjha However Waris Shah is mostly Known by Punjabi 

Waris Shah was a Sufi Poet of The Chishti order and through his Poems he portrayed the culture and political Situation of Punjab His Romance Style Poetry is a classic in itself

This is Common in both Sikhism and Muslim alike the mystical love towards God

Heer was an extremely beautiful Woman who belong to the Sial Clan that are Found mostly in Jhang While Ranjha whose Nick name is Dheedo was a Jatt if the Ranjha tribe that are found in Sargodha Jehlum Gujrat and Gujranwala district of West Punjab

Dheedo was the youngest in his family a very loveable just like a baby Her Sister in law challenge her go and get Heer he goes to Takht Hazara Heer village Where he is hired by Heer Father he plays Flute and as a Handsome man Heer falls in love with Him they Secretly met till Heer Uncle Kaido catches and Heer Mother Malki knows then they decide that Heer to get married with Saida Khera a jatt of Khaira Clan

Ranjha is heartbroken on Heer marriage and go to countryside where he met jogi Goraknath He also becomes a Jogi and one day reaches Heer Village Rangpur 

Heer eloped with Ranjha with Saida Sister Sehti help The khaira catch the couple who are brought to Raja Adali of Qubala On listening to Heer Ranjha He ordered Saida to divorce Heer

Upon This Kaido asks Raja to allow heer to be taken to her village for marriage

Upon reaching there Kaido poison Heer and She died upon hearing this Ranjha comes And eat remaining poison and also dies

Heer and Ranjha are burried in Heer Hometown Jhang

Damodar Gulati

He was also known as Damodar Arora of Jhang He was a great Story teller this was he who First Compose The Story of Heer Ranjha

Damodar Wrote the Story in 1605 then again it was Re- written by Ahmad Gujjar in 1680 and then by Shahjahan Muqabil in mid  of 18th Century

Waris Shah built Up his Classic on  Muqabil Work and was accorded a Classic in 1766

Damodar is one of the most Distinguished Poet of Punjabi language 

He wrote on mystical Love and although less known but paved the Way for Waris Shah to Compose the Classic
