Salma Bint Said alos known as Syeda Salma.She was the Princess of Zanzibar and Oman This is one of the most Popular Stories of Oman.
Princess Syeda Salma was one of the 36 Children born to Syed Said Bin Sultan Al-Busaid.She was Born on 20 August 1844 Her mother Jiffidan was a Circassian.She was a Concubine of the King She was Proficient in Arabic and Swahli.Her brother Majid bin said of Zanzibar taught her Riding and how to Shoot She Learned the skill of Writing which nobody Knew as this was not Common.
Her Father Died in 1856 when she was just 12 years old.His brother Sayyid Thuwaini bin said al-said become Sultan of Zanzibar and her Younger brother Majid bin said become the Ruler of Muscat and Oman.
She inherited estate from her father as well as 6000 Pounds.Her mother died in 1859 and she also inherited from her mother.Un-fortunately a war broke between her 2 Brothers Barghash bin said and her Favourite brother Majid bin said.She Favoured her brother Majid and her Sister Khwala favoured Barghash.Majid soon defeated Bargash and he was Exiled to Mumbai.In this her Brother Barghash and sister Khwala turned against her.
She shifted to Stone Town where she met His neighbour a German Merchant Rudolph Heinrich Ruete(born-1839-Died-6 August 1870)They devolped Illicit relations and she become Pregnent She then along with Rudolph Boarded the Sea-Liner H.M.S Highflyer Commanded by Captain Thomas Malcolm Sabine Pasley R.N She was Baspitised as a Christian woman and She later gave birth to a son Heinrich who died while on board in 1866.
In Germany The couple had a Son and Two daughters.
Her Husband Rudolph died in 1870 after a Tram Accident and She Find herself in Deep Financial Trouble.
She then thought to write Her Memorire as she already had the Skill.This went so Famous that she Become a Authour which is still considered as a Classic.
She wrote of the Events in Zanzibar and How she Become a Christian.
