 Kidnapping for ransom - Tipu Sultan's sons are taken hostage in 1793 This was after the successes of Cornwallis in the Third Mysore War and the capture of Seringapatam. There was a treaty whereby half of Tipu's area went under the British. The 'hostages' were taken to ensure implementation of the Treaty.

Many of our rulers have emulated his 'inspiring' example since 1757 and it seems as if nothing has changed since then!

 Sibghatullah Shah Pir Pagaro Unlike popular belief Pagaro is not the name of a place but literally means the tribal chieftain's turban. Sibghatullah Shah was arrested on the orders of Sir Hugh Dow the Governor of Sindh in 1941 who had
